Welcome to the adaptogenic and transformative practise of yoga nidra, a chance to establish your own rhythms of self care this new year. This progressive 8 week journey can be accessed online from wherever you are. We keep the group small and intimate, allowing for sharing and ongoing support.
Yoga nidra is a state of deep rest, clarity and healing. Usually translated as ‘yogic sleep’, the practises of yoga nidra take us through progressively deeper states of consciousness where the mind and body are in deep silence and stillness, as if sleep, but the awareness floats freely, fully awake. It is practised laying down and is accessible to all, whether you have experience of yogic practise and meditation or not.
Yoga nidra rebalances the nervous system, inviting body and brain to heal and building inner resilience. Subtle patterns of energy and thought have the space to gently unravel. With time and committed practise, yoga nidra deepens awareness, acceptance and connection to our true nature.
This practical course is designed to take you through different elements of the yoga nidra practise and help you establish a self practise during and after the 8 weeks. Each session will include a guided practise (with a recording provided for you to keep) and the opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of the group.
Investment of £120 for 8 weeks including 8 recordings which are yours to keep, a 20 mins 121 discussion with me and a free gift! Payment plans are available. Pease speak to me if finances are an issue but you wish to join, I am happy to support you.
Need to know more?
Who is guiding the course?
Me (Ali) a teacher of yoga and yoga therapy for the last 12 years. I recently deepened my study of yoga nidra with Classical Yoga in the UK, including 100 hrs of trauma and grief sensitive yoga nidra. 121 options are also available for more individually focused support of grief and trauma.
Who might benefit from this course?
The benefits of this ‘inner medicine’ are unique to each one of us, depending on our needs and intentions. Many people come to yoga nidra to relieve stress, anxiety and sleep issues. It can also help those looking to deepen (or feeling stuck in) their meditation practise, offering a new angle on awareness. Plus anyone who is interested in transforming thought patterns and behaviour - or simply curious about trying something new to support their wellbeing.
Do I need any experience?
No! This is open to all and we will progress together over the course of 8 weeks, no prior experience (of any type of yoga) is required. Experienced yogis are most welcome and I feel we can all learn from this profound inner journey, at our own pace.
Where does it take places?
We will gather on zoom. All participants will have live interaction and opportunities to share.
What is the structure of the course?
Each week the practise follows a theme. You will receive a recording of the session and it is recommended to self practise with this guided recording until we meet again. The recordings are yours to keep. Each session begins with welcome, guided practise and grounding/ tea/ optional sharing.
Can I drop in?
Sorry, no. We may run a few drop in sessions as an introduction and preview to the course (contact me if that interests).
Do I need to attend all 8 weeks?
To get the most benefit you will need to attend all sessions. Recordings are available if circumstances or health mean you cannot but certain elements will be best received in live practise.
