YIN YOGA FOR THE WHOLE BODY - HEALING SOUND BATH - CHANTING - LIGHT RAW VEGAN SUPPER - COMMUNITY
Hosted by Ali & Fran
Moving into the new year there is an expectation of great change; grand plans. Yet we are still surrounded by the dark dissolution of winter. It is time to return to simplicity; to move inwards and rest in emptiness; for only here can we create space for Spring intentions to be planted. In our January Resonant Retreat we do so as a community, connected by yoga, sound & food.
In Chinese medicine (by which Yin Yoga is much informed) the elements of nature resonate with our inner qualities. This is the water phase, symbolised by the kidneys & bladder, which can house fear and exhaustion as much as wisdom and vitality.
Our sequence offers the whole body a chance to re-set in stillness, as it knows how to, when given time. There will be special emphasis on yin poses for the kidneys and the opportunity to practise in silence.
Flow of the day:
Our opening circle is a chance to connect through sharing and chanting before we move into a yin yoga sequence for the kidneys & bladder. The yin way is to surrender into the poses mindfully and for longer; stimulating the flow of life force to the vital organs. From here the gongs and other sacred sounds slow the brainwaves and soothe the nervous system into a state of meditation, healing & transformation.
We ground and chat over a light supper (raw, gluten free, plant-based & organic) created by Moody Mango Raw Cuisine. Eating consciously and consuming fresh ingredients in line with the seasons is the basis for the body to renew and heal itself.
The day concludes with a closing & sharing circle (speaking is always optional). We’ll send you a practise & recipe card for the season so you may continue this work at home.
Resonant Retreats is all about creating conscious connections with the seasons, self and like minded community. Regaining our natural resonance through yoga, sound & food. All are welcome!
