♥ Kundalini Yoga is known as the 'Yoga of Awareness' dates back over 6,000 years. It was kept secret for due to its innate power to transform but in 1968 was brought from India to the west by Yoga Bhajan.
This yoga is accessible to everyone - all ages, body types and levels of wellness are suitable. In the workshop, just do as much or as little as you feel you can. Just from basking in the energy of Kundalini Yoga, you will benefit!
♥ What does it involve?
Kundalini Yoga integrates breathing techniques, active movement, held stretches, deep relaxation, meditation, mudra (hand positions), and mantra (meditation using the repetition of sacred sounds). It is a fun, dynamic and incredibly efficient. The ancient techniques of Kundalini Yoga are prescriptive and specific in their application. For example, there are kriyas (yoga sets) from getting better sleep, relieving lower back pain, cleansing the kidneys, to connecting you to your divine purpose.
Often Kundalini Yoga can spark Divine creativity and inspiration, so you may benefit from bringing a journal and pen with you.
♥ What to wear?
It's best to wear white clothes of natural fibres (cotton, silk, viscose) that are light and comfortable. You can wear natural head covering, like a scarf or shawl for meditation.
♥ About the gong ceremony
The universe is composed of vibration and, as the universe in miniature, so are we...every cell, bodily part and thought. Sacred sound re aligns us on the physical, emotional, energetic, mental and spiritual levels. The gong is the most powerful and diverse sound healing instrument. It's vibrations and overtones are felt by every cell of the body and soothe the brain waves into a deeply relaxed, meditative or blissful state. Planetary, symphonic and elemental gongs are accompanied by singing bowls, elemental instruments, voice, conch shell and shruti box. There is nothing for you to do, simply set your intention, let go and allow the sounds to guide you on a deep inner journey towards wholeness.
