Breathe in the light - Imbolc day retreat (online)

In the Celtic calendar Imbolc marks the first stirring of Spring. Like the snowdrops pushing through the still frosty ground into the growing sunlight, there are elements of both Winter’s hibernation and Spring’s rejuvenation. We can use this time to prepare for new growth and expansion.

This online retreat is designed to provide solace in the current lockdown, to reconnect to both the cycles and stillness with ourselves. We share a series of healing practises and inner explorations. And you will be supported in how to continue their energy during breaks and how to integrate the day, perhaps taking elements of retreat into your daily routine. We will use both zoom and crowdcast which are very simple to use and recreate the feeling of being together in the space.

The morning begins with a welcome circle, before diving into our yin yoga practise. Yin is a meditative style of yoga where we surrender into simple postures for three minutes or more. We will focus on the breath as a way to gently shine light on tensions held in the deeper layers of body and mind. Through yin’s opening and stillness we are able to receive the healing vibrations of gongs, crystal bowls and elemental instruments more deeply, into each and every cell, organ, energy channel. The sound journey guides us into lunch and free time.

You are invited to eat well and take some time in nature to digest the practises; to gather inspiration for the afternoon session and setting an intention.

As the day draws to a close we hunker down for yoga nidra - in this adaptogenic practice, awareness is guided through body, breath and sound on a meditative inner journey. We close with a sharing circle, wrapping up the day with connection and reflection.

Book before 24th Jan to receive a little retreat gift - a recording of the yoga nidra and sound journey will be available for your own use afterwards.

Please note:

  • Investment of £47.50 per person
